My favorite book of 2007 will actually be published in January - "Life Class" by Pat Barker. Barker won a Booker some time ago for a book in her WW I trilogy and she re-visits that terrain in "Life Class."
What struck me hardest was the gulf she describes between those who have witnessed and participated in war and those that haven't. What can we do to bridge that awful gap when the troops come home from Iraq and Afghanistan?
